The current GERHON Fuel Conditioning for Gasoline was developed by improving and building on the GERHON used at that time. To explain its technical background, we present the earlier GERHON test records. The figures were measured using the products and test conditions of that period.

These results apply to the stated test conditions and do not guarantee the same outcome for every vehicle or operating condition. They do not mean that all exhaust-gas components decreased or that every measured item improved.

The supplied selection excludes records showing no change and records whose before-and-after conditions could not be identified. Not all items within a test necessarily change in the same direction, so this page presents the individual measurements.

2. Specified product dose

Use 10 mL of GERHON per 20 L of gasoline: 0.05% by volume, approximately 500 ppm.

This 500 ppm figure is the specified product dose. Where the concentration cannot be confirmed in the third-party test certificate itself, it is not presented as the concentration actually used in the 1985 tests. Product dosage guidance and recorded test conditions are identified separately.

3. 1985: fuel-economy and emissions trends in the same vehicle

Repeated Japanese 10-mode tests on the same gasoline vehicle recorded improvement-direction trends in fuel economy, CO, HC and CO2 between August and November 1985.

The approximately 24.2% figure is the increase in fuel economy expressed in km/L. It is not the percentage reduction in fuel consumed or fuel expenditure.

This is a record of changes in one vehicle over time. These percentages cannot be applied to every vehicle, nor can the results be described as a reduction in all exhaust-gas components.

4. 1993: used-oil analysis

This analysis compares used oil from the same vehicle after separate 10,000 km runs before and after GERHON use. It is a separate record from the 1985 10-mode tests.

The sample taken after GERHON use showed fewer insolubles, a slightly lower total acid number and a higher total base number.

The supplied record interprets the viscosity values as showing less viscosity loss than before GERHON use. This is not a claim that higher viscosity is always better. Because the supplied summary does not specify units for kinematic viscosity, this page reproduces those numerical values without assigning a unit.

5. Interpreting the results and evaluation scope

The 1985 record shows improvement-direction values for fuel economy and CO, HC and CO2 in the vehicle's 10-mode tests. The 1993 record documents differences in insolubles, acid number, base number and other properties of oil sampled after separate 10,000 km runs.

The fuel-economy/emissions tests and the used-oil analysis differ in both date and evaluation items. They are not treated as one test that demonstrated everything. Gasoline records are not presented as evidence of effects in diesel or kerosene.

These are historical measurements obtained under specific conditions. They do not guarantee that the current product will produce the same percentage change, or that every vehicle and operating condition will yield identical results.
