Whether you are unable to list products on Amazon, products aren't appearing despite being listed, or you're running ads that result in no purchases, these all fall under the category of "Amazon listing issues," yet the areas requiring investigation differ. Breaking the process down into Listing → Publishing → Viewing → Purchasing makes it easier to determine the correct order of action.

NEXT SCIENCE provides services for Amazon product registration, product descriptions, image composition, category/brand verification, and initial advertising setup for our clients. We confirm listing conditions through our own internal operations, as simply copying product descriptions from Shopify is often insufficient. Here, we introduce the order of inspection used in our practical work. This is not a procedure that guarantees individual review results or sales performance.

1. For registration errors, record the displayed content exactly as it appears

Organize the error message, target product, input fields, and any required documents or information. Check for inconsistencies between the brand name, product identifiers, categories, and variations. It is also important not to confuse existing product information with new registrations.

Requirements and listing restrictions vary by product, category, and account. Prioritize the latest guidance from Seller Central, and identify exactly which field is being rejected before repeatedly resubmitting the same content.

2. Distinguish between a completed registration and a "purchasable" listing

Even if you can register a product in the admin console, it does not necessarily mean the product detail page is visible or in a purchasable state. Check the inventory, price, shipping conditions, status of the listing information, and any requests for additional information. Before scaling up advertising, visit the actual product page to verify its condition.

If you make major changes to titles or images while there is a listing issue, it becomes difficult to track the cause. Please keep a record of which changes were made and when.

3. Separate the data for views, clicks, and purchases

Status Metrics/Information to Check Potential Solutions
Ads not displaying Delivery/product eligibility, listing status, budget, targeting settings First, verify eligibility for delivery
Impressions exist but few clicks Impressions, clicks, CTR, search terms Verify alignment between search intent, product, images, title, and price
Clicks exist but few orders Clicks, ad-attributed orders, product page sessions/order status Check product specifications, how-to-use guides, images, and shipping terms
Sales are made but no profit remains Revenue, ad spend, referral fees, cost of goods, shipping/return burden Review advertising scope and product profitability

ACOS is calculated as (Ad Spend ÷ Ad-Attributed Sales), and ROAS as (Ad-Attributed Sales ÷ Ad Spend). Do not treat ACOS as zero during periods with no sales; instead, record ad spend and order counts separately. Neither metric represents profit margin itself. Also, verify the definition and attribution window for ad-attributed sales.

4. Align images and descriptions with customer questions at the time of purchase

While Shopify allows for a detailed explanation of brand background, on Amazon, you are compared based on limited information from search results and product detail pages. Organize what the product is, its capacity/dimensions/quantity, and what it can and cannot be used for.

Cross-reference your internal product information with the content on the listing, and avoid unsubstantiated performance claims or misleading images. Check the latest requirements for images and descriptions in Seller Central. Using AI to refine text does not exempt you from checking product specifications or listing standards.

5. Do not compare Shopify and Amazon using the exact same metrics

Even if you understand user behavior on your own site via GA4 or Clarity, you cannot observe purchasing behavior within Amazon using the same scope. Divide the roles of Amazon reports and your own site analytics. While monitoring your sales channels as a whole, avoid mixing up clicks or sales that have different definitions.
