You expected your sales to grow once you created a landing page (LP), yet neither purchases nor inquiries have increased. While an LP is a page for consolidating information, it only fulfills its role when traffic acquisition, comprehension, product selection, and purchase conditions are seamlessly connected. You cannot determine where the bottleneck lies based on appearance alone.
At NEXT SCIENCE, we manage our own Shopify, Meta ads, LP, SEO, and web analytics. Having experienced scenarios where an LP, product, or purchase process became stuck despite high ad CTR, we prioritize never evaluating an LP as an isolated deliverable.
Does the first screen contain what the ad promised?
You mention the price in the ad, but it cannot be found on the LP. You claim it is for beginners, yet it starts with technical jargon. If there is such a mismatch, readers are unlikely to continue. By placing the ad copy and the beginning of the LP side-by-side, verify that the target audience, the problem being solved, and the next steps are aligned.
Don't make the LP's role "explaining everything"
If you intend for the LP to convey usage and selection criteria, and the product page to detail specifications and purchase terms, define the boundaries of their roles clearly. If you cram everything into the LP, the reading burden increases; if you leave everything to the product page, the reason to choose may be lacking.
Start by drafting a single sentence stating, "Who is this for, what should they decide, and where should they go next?" If there are multiple products, present options by usage and guide users to the relevant product page.
Inspect numbers and screens as a set
| Metrics/Actions to Watch | What to Inspect | Candidates for Text Revision |
|---|---|---|
| Difference between Ad Clicks and LP Visits | URL, loading, tracking conditions | Verify access before editing text. Address setup issues separately. |
| Viewing products/services after reaching LP | Are the next options clear? | Add selection criteria and specific CTAs immediately after explanations. |
| Cart/Purchase after viewing products | Do LP promises match product terms? | Guidance on target/non-target, price, and shipping terms. |
| Move from consultation link to inquiry | Is the scope and method clear? | Specify what to provide during consultation and the contact method. |
In GA4, observe the flow of the same user as they navigate through your target LP. Merely dividing total page views by other metrics does not yield an accurate transition rate. It is also necessary to cross-reference with actual orders or valid consultations.
CTAs should state what will be found at the destination
"Click here for details" does not explain the content that follows. If it involves product comparison, make it "Select a model by usage"; if it is for consultation, use "Consult about ad and LP status" to be specific. Immediately before the CTA, briefly state the target, scope of support, and the next steps.
Use Clarity to check whether users are actually reading down to the CTA and if there are "dead clicks" on images or decorative elements. A "quick back" action does not necessarily indicate dissatisfaction on its own. Combine GA4 transition data with actual smartphone display checks.
Implement revisions one by one, keeping track of hypotheses and change dates
If the hypothesis is "users stop reading before reaching the CTA," try shortening the introduction or adding guidance along the way. If "product terms are unclear," add information near the product selection section. If you change ad appeals or budgets simultaneously, you cannot attribute results solely to the body text.
Use AI as a tool to assist in comparing structure and wording drafts. Always verify specifications, case studies, and achievements against actual data to ensure both readability and reliable decision-making material.
