If you were told during a pre-inspection check that your battery's capacity had dropped to 80%, you would probably consider replacing it. What did this user actually do and measure in that situation? A user who used ORBITRON Battery Revive 30 mL shared the process in their maintenance log on Minkara.
The user, ReiGoofy, drives a Subaru Legacy Touring Wagon. We have received permission to use the photos and quoted text. The photos shown have been cropped to a 1:1 aspect ratio from the original measurement photos.
Additive, Charging, and Subsequent Measurement
According to the post, after being told that the battery's capacity was approximately 80% during a pre-inspection check, the user added approximately 5 mL of Battery Revive to each cell on October 10. The battery was then charged overnight. On October 18, the user checked the battery's condition with a newly purchased battery tester, which displayed an SOH (State of Health) of 98% and an internal resistance of 5.8 mΩ.
【Note on Charging Status】The user, ReiGoofy, also added that the battery had been charged the day before the pre-inspection check when it was rated at 80%.
"It's gone up!"
This was ReiGoofy's candid reaction upon seeing the results. The user also wrote, "It seems to have improved by about 18%!" Please also view the original measurement record (Minkara) and the record of the additive and charging.
How to Interpret 98%
We want to be clear about this. Since the battery had also been charged the day before it was rated at 80%, this is not a comparison of charging only after adding the additive. However, we cannot confirm that the "80%" from the pre-inspection check and the "98%" from the tester purchased later were obtained using the same measuring device and under the same conditions. Although the user attributes this recovery to the effects of Battery Revive, this does not conclude that the 18-point difference is solely due to the product.
Even so, it is valuable that a user documented the entire process of adding the additive, charging, and measuring in their own words and with their own photos. We also have no intention of simply stating "18% recovery" without mentioning the conditions.
Before Replacement, First Check the Condition and Battery Type
Battery Revive is exclusively for flooded lead batteries that can be topped up with water. For typical 6-cell batteries, use approximately 5 mL per cell, for a total of 30 mL. It cannot be used if the fluid level is at the upper limit or if adding it will cause it to exceed the upper limit. It also cannot be used in MF, AGM, EFB, or gel batteries.
If you are concerned about starting, the condition does not improve after charging, or there is internal damage, please prioritize replacement or maintenance. This product is intended to be considered as a maintenance option that includes topping up and inspection after confirming the conditions under which it can be used.
