Over 10 Years of Pursuing "Driving Quality" That Can't Be Expressed by Numbers Alone
In recent years, more and more people have come to know about ORBITRON under the name "Micoreactor."
On the other hand, you may also see various reviews and verifications on the internet and video sites.
"I felt the effect."
"I didn't notice a change."
"There was no change in the numbers."
All of these are honest opinions from actual users, and we have no intention of denying them.
That is why we want to tell you what ORBITRON aims for and what philosophy has guided our development.
ORBITRON development began in August 2013.
The history of ORBITRON began in August 2013.
What we have consistently aimed for since then is not just numbers, such as "increasing maximum output by X horsepower" or "improving fuel efficiency by X%."
A natural connection the moment you press the accelerator.
A sense of unity throughout the vehicle.
A grounded feel where the tires grip the road flexibly.
Comfort that makes long-distance driving less tiring.
And "a drive that makes you want to keep going."
We have continuously pursued this kind of "driving quality."
Technology that began with power modules
The first product to be created was the "Power Module."
The Power Module was sold until 2021 and continued to evolve thanks to valuable feedback from many customers.
During its development period, eight patents related to the technology were acquired.
These technologies became the foundation for subsequent ORBITRON products.
2021: The Birth of the Microreactor with New Technology
In 2021, we launched the Microreactor, which incorporates new technology.
M1, G1, M-X, G-X, F-X
Further development led to
M1R, G1R
and then
M1R GLi, G1R GLi
We have received feedback from many owners based on their actual driving experiences.
This accumulation of experience has led to our current technology.
GLi was not a finished product, but an "open beta."
October 2025.
The GLi model, which forms the basis of the new generation ZF series, was released as an open beta version.
This was not the idea of selling a finished product.
Real roads.
Real car models.
Real owners.
It was a model whose purpose was to receive a lot of feedback in an environment that could never be replicated in a development lab, and to reflect that feedback in development.
The vast amount of information gathered from different car models, mileage, tires, suspensions, and usage environments has become a valuable asset for completing the ZF series, which will be released soon.
In other words, the ZF series is not a product created solely by developers.
It is a microreactor that has been nurtured together with owners across the country.
Both numbers and subjective experience are important.
Recently, there has been a lot of information sharing that analyzes and verifies fuel efficiency and various vehicle data using CAN data.
We do not deny such measurement methods.
Information that can be confirmed by numbers is one of the very effective evaluation methods for understanding vehicle conditions.
However, what ORBITRON aims for is not a product that rewrites ECU control values or changes only numerical performance.
What we pursue is the "driving quality" that drivers actually feel.
For example,
Natural response to accelerator input.
A sense of unity in handling.
Flexible movement of the car body.
Improved ground contact feeling.
Fatigue after long-distance driving.
These include elements that cannot be fully expressed by numbers alone.
In other words, what matters is not the superiority of the measurement method.
It is the evaluation axis of "what are we measuring to evaluate?"
Numbers that evaluate fuel efficiency, output, etc.
And the feeling and comfort experienced by the driver.
Both are important, but they evaluate different things.
"I only realized it after taking it off," a common feedback.
What we find particularly striking is the common feedback we receive from many customers.
"I noticed the difference more when I took it off than when I put it on."
"The handling felt heavier."
"Tire noise increased."
"The car felt a whole lot heavier."
"After putting it back on, I was able to drive comfortably again."
Also,
"My beloved car, which I've driven for over 11 years, feels the best it ever has now."
"Long-distance driving has become easier."
"It drives nimbly even with more passengers or luggage."
We have received many such comments.
Of course, we do not guarantee the same change for everyone.
There are individual differences in vehicle condition, specifications, usage environment, and how things are perceived.
That is why we never assert, "This will definitely happen."
On the other hand, we take each customer's experience and opinion as valuable feedback for product development.
Technology will continue to evolve.
ORBITRON is not a brand that finishes with a single product.
Research and development ongoing since 2013.
Technology cultivated with power modules.
Eight patents.
The birth of the Microreactor.
Extensive feedback gained from the GLi open beta.
And the new generation ZF series.
All of these are stepping stones to further enhance "driving quality."
We will continue to pursue value that cannot be fully expressed by numbers alone.
And we will continue to evolve our technology while listening to our customers' voices.
Taking driving quality even further.
That is ORBITRON's development philosophy, unchanged since 2013.
Development and Verification Information
The methodology and limits of the long-term development evaluation discussed in this article are stated below.
- Evaluation period
- Ongoing since August 2013. Open-beta evaluation of the GLi models began in October 2025.
- Conditions
- Field evaluation on public roads using multiple vehicles and owners with differing vehicle types, mileage, tires, suspension setups, and operating environments.
- Measurement method
- Prototypes and on-road evaluations were repeated. User feedback was collected on throttle response, handling, road contact feel, noise, vibration, and fatigue after long-distance driving, including comparisons before installation, after installation, and after removal. This article does not use one standardized laboratory protocol.
- Results
- Different outcomes—including users who perceived a change, users who did not, and cases with no numerical change—were incorporated into development from the GLi models to the new-generation ZF Series.
- Limitations
- This was not a controlled test using the same vehicle, driver, and route. It includes substantial qualitative and subjective evaluation. Vehicle condition, specifications, operating environment, and individual perception differ, so the same change is not guaranteed for every user.
